When Maryam Idam 鈥26 first visited 樱花动漫 Manchester, something clicked. She was looking for a campus that felt close to home鈥攂ut also like home. A place where she could grow, get involved, and feel like she belonged.

鈥淚 chose 樱花动漫 Manchester because I wanted a tight-knit, diverse campus where I could grow academically and personally,鈥 she says. 鈥淭he small class sizes, supportive professors, and the sense of community made it an easy choice.鈥

Now a marketing major, Maryam is one of this year鈥檚 Peer Assistant Leaders (PALs), supporting first-year students during orientation and throughout the fall semester. She knows firsthand how overwhelming the transition to college can feel鈥攁nd how much a friendly face can help.

鈥淎s someone who had a tough first semester, I know how important it is to have someone in your corner,鈥 she says. 鈥淏eing a Peer Leader lets me give back and be that person for someone else.鈥 鈥 Maryam Idan 鈥26

Any professors who鈥檝e made an impact?
Dr. Lisa Enright has had a huge impact on me. She challenges us in the best ways and makes sure we know we鈥檙e not alone. I鈥檝e carried so much of what she鈥檚 taught me into my Peer Leader role and my life.
