The Associate in Science degree in Business Administration is designed to provide students with a stepping stone to a career. Graduates of the programÌýare prepared for entry-level employment opportunities or to continue their education at the baccalaureate level.

Major Requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 64 credits to graduate with an associate of science degree in business administration. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for graduation. In addition to completing seven Discovery Program courses and one Inquiry or Inquiry-attribute course within their first 48 earned credits, students must complete seven courses (28 credits) in the major and one elective course.

At the conclusion of the Business program, students should be able to demonstrate:
  • Breadth and Depth of Business Knowledge:\\nStudents are expected to demonstrate a growing knowledge across business subfields and understand their inter-relationships, with an aspiration, if desired, to further business studies in a B.A. in Business Administration degree.
At the conclusion of the Business program, students should be able to demonstrate:
  • Critical Thinking and Data Analysis: \\nStudents are introduced to the application of qualitative and quantitative analysis with an emphasis on Excel and other business analyses and problem-solving to make informed decisions in business.
  • Information Literacy and Communication Skills: \\nStudents acquire and demonstrate skills in retrieving, analyzing, and communicating information from multiple sources across business fields. This includes basic communication skills through written, oral, and visual methods, including reports, case studies, and data visualizations.
  • Preparation for Success in Continuing Studies in Business:\\nStudents will acquire a basic knowledge of business skills, information literacy, communication skills, critical thinking. and data analysis in business. This includes professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and ethical citizenship within business contexts.
